According to the 2021 Rural Urban Classification there are 78 Lower Super Output areas (LSOAs) that are classified as rural in East Sussex. These areas have been selected as a custom area in the Custom Area Profile tool.

Rother 004E in Rye and Winchelsea Middle Layer Super Output Area (MSOA) is the only rural LSOA in East Sussex in the most deprived 10% in England.
